P6O Rainbow project Mon 18th May

16th May 2020

Hello P6O. How are you all doing this week? I see that some of you are participating the the Healthy Kidz Virtual sports day activities which is brilliant! Well done! I can see that you're being very active and looking after yourselves well by eating healthily, sleeping well and washing your hands. Keep logging those points on the app!

So this week we are looking at rainbows. Rainbows are very popular at the minute, they appear everywhere. Have you noticed this? I love how bright, cheery and colourful they are. So here's a few rainbow-themed tasks for you to try.

*What is a rainbow? (Science/Geography)

*What are the colours of a rainbow and how can they be memorised? (Art)

*Can you make a rainbow in your house? (Science/Technology) The powerpoint will help

*What are the stories/legends from around the world involving rainbows? (English/Geography)

*Can you make a healthy eating rainbow? (PDMU) I've included a photo of 1 we made at home with fruit

*Research use of rainbow logos today? (ICT/Literacy/PDMU)

*Have you made a rainbow to show your support for key workers and sent us a pic yet?

*Have you got any ideas of your own to try out? If so let me know!

There's lots here to keep you busy so I won't add in any New Wave tasks this week. (If you want any New Wave tasks just send me an email!) Spellings for this week are ance and ence endings.

Send me any work that you do on rainbows and some pics please! koneill422@c2kni.net

Here is a wee message from Michelle: Just a wee quick message to say I miss you all loads and I hope you are all working hard. Olivia is certainly making me work hard and keeping me on my toes!!! Hopefully it won't be too long until I see all your smiling faces and hear your lockdown stories. Take care, stay safe, love Michelle. 😊🌈
