Monday 13th October sees the start of this years Bike to School week. This is an important week in our active travelling/Sustrans school calendar whereby we embrace the outdoors, dawn our helmets and hi-visibility clothing and enjoy a healthy and active start to our school day by cycling to school. As there have been some difficulties with proper bike storage in previous years and to avoid any safety hazards each class will have a set day to bike to school next week. The dates for each class are as follows:
Monday 13th October - Nursery, P3H, P5B.
Tuesday 14th October - P1B, P3/4C, P5O
Wednesday 15th October - P1F, P6F, P4M
Thursday 16th October - P2SH, P7Y, P6/7O
Friday 17th October - P2EH.
This is always a wonderful event which helps to encourage everyone to enjoy the outdoors and to further develop key cycling skills in the process. Please ensure that your child parks their bike each day in their designated area which their teacher will have explained to them and outside classroom windows for younger children and the bike shelter for KS2 children. Also please remember to talk to your child about the importance of being road safe and ensure that they are wearing a helmet and bright visible clothing whilst cycling to and from school.
