A Message from the Children's Commissioner

16th Jun 2020

In recent weeks, Koulla Yiasouma, the Children's Commissioner has been talking to professionals and children and young people about the advice and guidance being developed by the Department of Education with regard to returning to school in August/September.

The Commissioner is very keen to hear from children about their thoughts on returning to school, what they are looking forward to and what their concerns may be. Koulla has already talked to some post-primary aged young people and would be keen to hear the thoughts of primary school children (and parents). She has been in regular contact with the Education Minster and his senior staff as she feels it is vital that the Education Restart programme takes into account the views and concerns of pupils and parents.

The Children's Commissioner has developed a short survey for children which can be accessed here https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/GoingBackToSchool

There is also an option for parents too: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/GoingBackToSchoolParents

A message from the commissioner for P7 children can also be accessed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZ7ByXGnsOM

Thank you for taking part.
